The company Xiaomi, the Chinese giant has been sued for the amount of 50 million yuan, this is about 7,5 million dollars. The reason is the violation of 3GPP patents by Yuan Gongyi. The suit was filed against Xiaomi Technology Co. Ltd. and Xiaomi Communication technology Co. Ltd.
Xiaomi sued 50 million yuan
The patent called "Common Packet Channel" was used in the latest smartphone models with the Mi logo. Smartphones Mi 5X, Mi Max 2 and Mi Note 3 used the technology without Gongyi permission. The claim concerns the use of wireless communication CDMA, TD-SCDMA, HSPA and LTE.
This is not the first time that Xiaomi is going to court as a result of violating the intellectual property of another company. At the beginning of the year, Coolpad allows Xiaomi and asked to phase out the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. Earlier on the candlesticks was Redmi Note 2 which also had "problems" with patents.
Xiaomi has recently made its debut on the stock exchange and such legal problems may put the company in a bad light in front of its shareholders. On the other hand, Xiaomi does not complain about financial problems.
The only thing I can add is that Xiaomi likes to copy from others, well that from the better side.
